The Medical Story So Far - (and a CHART to illustrate the complexity)Catch Twenty-Two - or - The MRI Scan to Nowhere.Just had an MRI Scan at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage on my Lumbar Spine. I could not go the the local hospital in Bedford because their scanner had a 19 stone weight limit, so me being 21 stone was pushing the envelope too much. Even when I got to Lister, I had the scan with my arms positioned alongside my head for 35 minutes because the tunnel is too small for my shoulders. With all this worldwide obesity you'd think they'd make MRI scanners to fit the population instead of designing them for heavy midgets.
